Eugène Edine Pottier (French pronunciation: [øʒɛn pɔtje]; 4 October 1816 – 6 November 1887) was a French revolutionary, poet, song-writer, and freemason. He is most known for writing the lyrics of "The Internationale", a left-wing anthem.
